Zayed Sustainability Prize — win $100k for our school

The Zayed Sustainability Prize is now open to submissions from High Schools for projects that can demonstrate innovative, impactful and inspirational sustainability solutions.
The winning school in the East Asia & Pacific region will win US$100,000 to implement their project.
In a move to align more closely with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the UAE’s developing national agenda, the Zayed Sustainability Prize has broadened its reach beyond renewable energy. Based on its renewed mission, the Prize now also focuses on sustainable health, food and water, as well as energy.
High Schools remain a key focus of the prize.

Each year for the past five years, the Zayed Future Energy Prize has awarded US$100,000 to a high school in the Pacific region. The stories of the previous ZFEP Global High School Oceania Winners can be found below. The Zayed Sustainability Prize continues this initiative.

The Global High Schools category of the ZSP seeks to inspire students of ages 11-19 to obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to face critical global issues by supporting environmental awareness and sustainability initiatives on high school campuses. We are looking for students and teachers to work hand-in-hand to submit a project proposal with measurable initiatives to promote renewable energy and sustainability in their school. These may include reductions in energy or water consumption or carbon emissions, or suitable food, water and health initiatives. For the winning high school, the prize is a grant of up to US$100,000 that enables the project’s implementation.

Submissions are accepted online and will close on 9th August 2018. The Prize will be presented at opening ceremony of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, on 14th January 2019.
